Most Annoying Compilation Albums

Here is a list of some of my most annoying Compilation Albums:

Aerosmith – Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits:Aerosmith's Greatest HitsThis greatest hits compilation is horrible with cut up versions of “Sweet Emotion” and “Kings and Queens”. It also lacks “Train Kept A Rollin'” from Get Your Wings album.

Aerosmith – The Essential Aerosmith:
Like Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits it lacks “Train Kept A Rollin’,” and has two new songs that are not very good plus the duet with Run D.M.C. of “Walk This Way.” Too much 80’s and 90’s Aerosmith and not enough 1970’s Aerosmith in my opinion.

Beastie Boys – Anthology: The Sounds Of Science:r-1392922-1429388091-8339-png

“No Sleep Till Brooklyn” was left out on this compilation which is unforgiveable to me.

Creedence Clearwater Revival Featuring John Fogerty – Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits:r-2132196-1265768940-jpeg
Left out “Born on the Bayou” which apparently was on Chronicle Vol. 2 but should have been on the original.

Grateful Dead* – The Very Best Of Grateful Dead:r-2103653-1287511396-jpeg
Would have been better if it didn’t omit such classics as “St. Stephen,” “Scarlet Begonias,” “Good Lovin’,” “Shakedown Street,” and “Turn on Your Love Light.”

Lenny Kravitz – Greatest Hits:r-2939959-1308272608-jpeg
The compilation included the new song “Again” but left out “Spinning Around Over You” from the Reality Bites Soundtrack, plus “Fields of Joy” from the album Mama Said, and “Is There Any Love in Your Heart” from Are You Gonna Go My Way album. It also should have been in chronological order instead of all mixed up.

Ray Charles – Genius: The Ultimate Ray Charles Collection:r-1739408-1240258352-jpeg
A great collection but oddly it doesn’t include his first hit “Mess Around” which is very upsetting to me.

Stevie Ray Vaughan And Double Trouble* – Greatest Hits:r-1864077-1248651649-jpeg
The fine compilation is great but sadly it omitted “The Sky is Cryin’.” How do you do that?

U2 – The Best Of 1990-2000:r-1421092-1218293454-jpeg
This “Best Of” compilation has new songs on it and remixes instead of the originals. It also omits “Walk On” which is one of the best songs from the album All That You Can’t Leave Behind (2000).

Van Halen – Best Of Volume I:r-466459-1247464641-jpeg
Includes two new songs with David Lee Roth which are fine but no tracks from Diver Down are on this compilation.  Also no “Hot For Teacher” or “I’ll Wait” from the album 1984. Dumb.

Van Halen – The Best Of Both Worlds:
It could have been so easy to do a 2-CD compilation of Van Halen with Disc 1 containing songs from David Lee Roth era (1978-1984) and Disc 2 containing songs from the Sammy Hagar era (1986-1996) but no that would be too smart and easy. Instead they have tracks from all years all over the place along with new songs with David Lee Roth. Horrible. Makes no sense.

The Who – The Ultimate Collection:r-831764-1163308779-jpeg
A great compilation but it also should have included the song “Relay.”

ZZ Top – The Very Baddest:r-6020253-1408993326-6224-jpeg
A fine collection but my main complaint is that it should have been in chronological order instead of all mixed- up.
